Somehow I've managed to miss/postpone commenting on this series, an oversight I'm rectifying today!

Your writing is lovely as ever on all of these (even the one you dislike, which I could see coming from Havoc if he were very tired and slightly loopy), but I have to single out 97, which is simply gorgeous - dreamlike and wistful and sad. Also, this line from 50 - oh, they are lovers, they are ghosts, there is nothing yet to hold onto - which is so lyrical and just heartbreakingly beautiful.
