It’s been a long time since I updated. Sorry. I think (could be wrong) that I mentioned in comments I completed the run thru. I didn’t reach my goal of 100K or less. I’m just over 120K. Since completing the rewrite I have gone back and completely rewrote one character and the first few pages. Still working on those first few pages. The first ( Read more... ) -
Black Heart update, again
I got about 3/4 through, when I finally had to accept that one of the main characters is unforgivably two dimensional. A weakly portrayed character. Serious work needed. So I went back through to rewrite him, to beef his "presence" up. That, of course, added more words. So once I finish this pass, I'll have to do another. As I go, I'm getting ( Read more... ) -

I'm 1/3 way through the story and I've managed to trim out 53 pages so far. So I'm falling behind. But, the last ten chapters have the most potential for trimming, being the 10 largest chapters. I'm hoping any way. Looks like I'll have to make at least one more pass through to get it properly trimmed, though. This is proving harder than I ( Read more... ) -

My UF novel "Black Heart" is 600 pages. Time to cut 200 of those. I've gotten feedback/critiques. Now it's crunch time. Good-bye 1/3 of my novel.

Author Signing
Julie and I went to an actual book launch/author signing last night. Jaye Wells and Mark Henry were the authors. Jaye's first novel, "Redheaded Stepchild" was launched out into the world, and Mark's second, "Road Trip of the Living Dead" was also released. A good time was had by all ( Read more... ) -
