Since I moved into this house, back in July, my primary living space has been the huge walk-out basement. You're reminding me of when I lived in Boston and my apartment flooded due to a pipe bursting. It happened only one hour before I was supposed to leave for a con (local luckily). I'm so glad it hadn't happened two hours later!! For a while I and much of my furniture lived in the dining room of a one bedroom apartment while the fans and evaporating water owned the rest. Though it was already much better by the time I got home after the con.

We had more water in ours than usual but I have come to expect it and have also learned exactly where the water comes in, so no damage to anything.
