Lothiriel might well agree - imagine expecting to marry Éomer only to find he has chickened out and tradition insists that you, therefore, marry the groomsman!

Blessed the man who has such a faithful friend. I like Éothains voice here very much.

Thank you. I can see Éothian as much the same age as Éomer - but a little less serious as he is less duty-bound. And i decided to give the Rohirrim the custom of the groomsman having to stand in if for some reason the groom doesn't marry the bride, so that she is not a spurned woman!
