As his eyes ran and, horrors, more fluid streamed from his nose, Mithrandir was not sure if he wanted to stay alive until the spring…

*heh*

I think we've all had that cold...

Yep! and that icon probably looks quite a lot like poor Gandalf did at the time!

"...excrete stuff." LOL Loved that description. Poor Mithrandir. All sorts of new things to learn about being in a mortal body, and he's getting little sympathy from the elves! I hope he doesn't mind a hug. :)

Oh the elves are sort of sympathetic - but speak only from observation!

I'm glad you liked poor Mithrandir's horror of all this... excreting!

I can sooooo relate. I'm trying madly to avoid a horrendous 2-week long cold/sore throat/cough/ick virus daughter caught and then kindly shared with hubby.

Poor Gandalf!

I do feel for him. Actually my daughter appears to be suffering from much the same at the moment, as well - obviously the immune system is beginning to falter a little after so much cold weather.

I do think a cold would be truly horrible if someone has lived millennia and never had one. I mean, they're bad enough on a yearly basis. Poor Gandalf!

I feel I am being rather mean to him, really... :)

Urrrgh. The delights of bodily fluids! This is wickedly funny.

(And I've just realised that in many ways poor Olorin does draw a short straw - catapulted straight into an elderly mortal body, with all the extra frailties and aches and pains that brings, without ever having the experience and the memories of a fitter, younger one! No wonder he's grumpy!)

Thank you!

poor Olorin does draw a short straw

He really did, didn't he? I have enjoyed allowing him to keep the body in a slightly upgraded, and fitter, form in 'Immigrants' and 'The Valinor Trail'. But it really won't make up for all those years of old age with no youth!
