Oh Rosie - poor Rosie. Tindómë would agree with her that you can need just as much courage if you are left behind by the male of the species...

Poor Rosie, indeed. And yes, our OFCs know all about having to watch and wait, don't they?

"I do sometimes think that the darkness weighs most heavily, not on those who can take up the sword and march against it, but on those whose battles are fought behind the lines; those who can only wait and pray for its overthrow..."

[That's Arwen, in fact, thinking about Gilraen in Chapter 6 of Powers, but she's almost an OFC at that stage in the story since one has to make all her Rivendell stuff up...]

Ohhhh, so heartbreaking. These two definitely deserved their happily-ever-after.

They so did. At least I could write this knowing that they get it.

How hard it was to be left at home, waiting and wondering ...

It really was. I've always loved the way she treats Sam when he finally gets home, as if he's been off gallivanting and all the serious stuff has been happening back in the Shire - sweet and exasperating at the same time!

This is lovely and bittersweet!

Hang in there, Rosie--he's coming!

It did turn out a bit painful! But yes, she'll get her faithful Sam back in the end.
