Yes, selling one's soul is one legitimate interpretation. I was taking it a step further in my head--that Melkor is the one who perceives Sauron is selling his loyalty, when Sauron perceives that he is offering his loyalty free of charge (or bartering, at best)--but your interpretation of the prompt works well also and is probably the one most people would use.

It is very interesting - this love of order that leads to 'the Dark side' because the other side allows for chaos.
