Oh, this was REALLY cute. Nothing much will phase a dwarf :-)

Tehehe, thank you! :). Nope, not even a great war-horse.

What an unusual pairing! I think I like Firefoot's indignation even more than Gimli's :)

And I love this line: 'Eyes of the swift wind gazed into those born of the earth‘s deeps.'

I had fun writing horse-disbelief. :) I'm glad you liked it.

Thank you. I had this image in my mind of a mountain and a tornado. It seemed to me the powerful, deep essence of a dwarf is actually very similar in power and intensity to that of the great horses. :) Now if only they could realize that more easily. :P

Yay! I'm glad! I was slightly worried about how to write Gimli's reaction in a way that seemed true to his nature.

Heeheee. Who'd a-thought it - Gimli the Horse-Whisperer!

Very original, and a very nicely constructed encounter.

Now imagine Legolas hearing about this, or worse, Gloin! -sniggers-

Thank you. :). I was having issues with the prompt, and then I read that part of the book, and it was just perfect.

Hehehe. Not an epithet he would have expected going into this quest!
