I always feel so sorry for Faramir having to put up with a father like that.

Poor Faramir - Denethor somehow never, really, saw his second son, did he?

Denethor's ability to appreciate Faramir kept dwindling, the more he relied on using the Palantir, or so I see it. Thanks so, CuriousWombat!

I'm so glad I managed to convey that. It must have been difficult, trying so hard to please Denethor and being treated always as if he'd managed to do nothing of worth! Thanks, Mews.

What comes to mind is 'poor Faramir', with those questions.

Denethor is within his rights as Faramir's liege-lord to question him, but I have the feeling that Faramir simply doesn't have enough men to stop every enemy unit from entering Mordor. Denethor comes down harder on Faramir than is reasonable or neccessary here; and we all know where that's going. I like how you show that Faramir has the gumption to stick up for himself.

Thanks so, Raksha. Yes, he's going to point out the successes; but how can as few men as they have manage to stop the coming of all Sauron's allies?
