Thank you! The fact that the Elvish perspective can stretch over such long periods is one of the things that really attracts me to trying to write about them; it's always a challenge to crack the time span now and then. :D

oh, the sea, water forever without a far shore, we went diving for pearls...

This sent shivers down my spine. And as other commenters have said, it has such a sense of the hugeness of Elven time, it makes my head spin.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked that line -- it refers back to an earlier drabble from this challenge, I wanted to tie the set up neatly here. :D (They're all posted as a set on my journal now, if you want to see the whole lot together.) And I am glad the hugeness of time comes through! It's easy to jump from event to event while writing Silmarillion fic, sometimes, without stopping to think exactly how much 'real' time the timeline covers.
