Again, beautifully described; the skeletal leaves and prickly chestnuts are especially evocative. And I like Elladan's qualms about Tom Bombadil!

I'm glad you like the images. I love autumn and walking in the woods.

I don't blame Elladan - Tom can be very cryptic!

I love walking through trees in the autumn, and the scene was very easy to picture - I'm glad you liked it.

Merry said that paths in the Old Forest seemed to move, so I think even elves would have trouble finding their way at times.

I'm sure they did. The rangers guarded the Shire, and the twins often rode with them. And we know Tom had dealings with elves as well.
