I was going to smack you for working on this when you had other, more important things to do, but this is just so, so beautiful. It's all just heartrending, but I particularly loved the sombre voice of a man... a man not used to singing at that. His heart ruled his tongue and the tentative start grew stronger.
I can just imagine the rasp of his voice, then strengthening until it finally dies away to a reverent whisper. Just beautiful, expressive, vivid writing. *happy sigh*

*G* - I did do a bit earlier - honest!

But I thought of this walking to the Castle this morning, and like they say... it just had to be done. I'm very pleased you liked it! :-)

Thank you. At the time I wrote the 'Beer' drabble I had a notion about a special toast but couldn't fit it in, this prompt filled the void nicely. ;)

And that, too, was a thing well done.

That was great - I loved Aragorn chanting the Elvish lament. And this line is just beautiful: 'a whispered roar of ocean to strand'.

Thanks :-) As I said, I had an itch to extend the scene in Meduseld, and have Aragorn moved to add his own remembrance.
