Apparently, there is a parallel in RL, sort of.
Wikipedia says there is some research that suggests that people may tend to see as many colours in the rainbow as they have primary colour words in their language.

Sweet! An unexpected interlude between these two. I like the scientist versus the artist in this piece, with Narvi providing the counterpoint of 'look, it's amazing - stop and see the colors for once!'
