Title: Hope, Unlooked For. A set of three drabbles. Author: Kortirion Characters: Glorfindel, Elrond, Rating: G Source: Third Age Disclaimer: Tolkien’s world, his plot, his story - these merely offer a thought or two.
He's not a character I've written before, but it was interesting to explore - though having pursued him through two prompt series, I think I'd better give him a rest!
I love all of these. The vivid picture you paint in the first one is beautiful. "It fell to Glorfindel not to fail him" is wonderful. And the last one, even though we all know who will be "the hope of Middle-earth", still has such a gorgeous reveal it makes you smile.

That's a wonderful explanation of why Elrond didn't accompany her into the West. And fortunately, he had wonderful comrades and advisors to guide him.

I can certainly imagine him being Elrond's confidante in those times.
