She's only just managed to wake him up out of his grief and get him to recognize her--and here he is about to send himself to sleep.
I think she may have concluded that, lovely as he is, he needs to be organized, just a bit!

I think Beren does have any admirable qualities, but it's clear that on this quest Luthien definitely needed to keep taking charge!
