How it must comfort Faramir to have the love of such a dear old friend, especially one who shares his memories.

Yes, she has known him vitually all his life and nurtured him after his mother's death, along with Boromir.

A clever collection of images. I love the idea of Arwen being wary of the garden.

It came to me as I was writing it that she wasn't keen on sea-shells... and it fitted.

I'm so pleased to see these two reunited - and that Faramir finds his mother's garden cared for.

I am fascinated by the idea of Arwen avoiding the garden's echoes of the sea.

Yes, I'm sure Melleth would see it taken care of, especially when she moves back to Minas Tirith.

And since there's always been a background, low-level rivalry between her and Arwen... (in my 'verse anyway!) Melleth knows the garden is one place that the Queen won't want to go.

Having just read about Arwen not being in Imladris all the 18 years that Aragorn was there - therefore he never met her nor did Elrond and her brothers speak of her - it sparks an idea (in my AU) that Melleth , who accidentally comes upon Haldir while she is travelling south to Dol Amroth, aged 18/19... might have met Arwen in Lothlorien before Aragorn did.

A fleeting visit there for M - I'm not sure if I want her to go North to the Havens/Lune with Haldir and a party of Elves before or after shes taken by Corsairs to Harad. Not that I've written that one yet, but she's my avatar to explore Middle-earth with... and she gets everywhere at one time or another!

Oh - I like the idea of them meeting in Lothlorien!

Yeah, worth exploring that one - I get these little flashes of inspiration and try and store them away before I forget them.
At some future time I'll track these incidental ripples backwards and/or forwards, because although it doesn't always work, I like myME!verse stories to be part of the same world - not always successfully... particularly when it comes to "Boromir - dead or undead?" ! *g*
