Ah, nice! I'd buy one of those shawls.

Thanks.
The idea is based on these - https://www.pinterest.com/pin/280700989247903768/ - Assuit shawls, of a fabric called Tulle Bitalli.

Nicely innovative--some clever experimentation and real business acumen! Not something we see in Middle-earth all that often.

Oh - neat idea! A shawl +2 against bladed weapons!

See the pics in the pinterest link.... though I imagine their's to be rather more naturalistic/floral/Art Nouveau-ish in design.

I have a couple and they are surprisingly heavy... I dare say a good dwarven smith could make them lighter - a la the mithril corselet.

If you google 'Assuit shawls' you'll get better pics - I found after I'd put the link in!

I would love one of those shawls. You interwove the characters wonderfully with the product and managed to create a whole as sinuous as the fabric they are describing.

How nicely this story was interwoven around that shawl, that central element that seemed to be the focus of the drabbles; it linked them nicely.

Thanks, I'm pleased you enjoyed them - though I have to admit, the shawl was an afterthought when I realised that Kharli the dwarf needed something to do with her metal-worked ribbons

I would never have thought that shawl was an afterthought
