I can see Gondarian nobility clamoring for the position. I can also see Arwen wanting to run screaming from all of them. Poor new Queen. The trappings of royalty can be a velvet prison.

I wonder how many of the applicants really want the position, or how many were pushed into applying by their fathers trying to get a better feel for Aragorn's rule ad realm.

It's a position that requires trust and the wrong choice, even though they can be replaced after a set time period, still would be difficult to work with. Arwen needs to choose carefully for this particular Lady in Waiting.
