Thank you. I read 'The Science of Middle-earth', which proposed that elves' eyes have more receptors in them, hence their vision is clearer and sharper over far longer distances than ours, more like those of a bird of prey - just extrapolating from that. ;-)

Hooded elf? Is that just because it's cold or is there about to be some kind of reveal?

I do love this idea - I wrote a story once in which someone thought of seeing half a sky of stars - but I hadn't thought of it applying to mortals in the eyes of the firstborn before.

I think I was partly inspired by looking up and only seeing the major stars, because of light pollution, when I know that if I were somewhere 'darker' I'd see many more.
