I rarely think about Thranduil's POV. I suspect that seeing the film (in a few weeks) will change that. This is nicely written.

Thank you! It's very typcial for me to see events in a story through an untypical POV, often one of the side characters - and in Tolkien's case mostly through elven eyes. ;o) I fear I'm a bit obsessed that way. Thranduil has always been one of my favourite Tolkien characters, coming as a third behind Elrond and Celeborn, though not by much. I'm intrigued by the different elven culture he represents.

I don't think of Thranduil and cinnamon.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean.

My bad; I was thinking faster than I type. What I meant to say was that I don't think of them together, story wise. I just can't imagine Thranduil and cinnamon in the same story.

Ooh, I like this very much. I thought that bit in the movie was very thought-provoking. Tolkien didn't give us much of Thranduil's history, but you do a good job filling in yet more little hints. I have a feeling there might be quite a few people rushing to write Thranduil after seeing the movie, especially that scene.

Thanks!
*g* Indeed, that scene, it set quite some plotbunnies free in my mind's yard. But typical for me as well, for the book canon, not the movie canon. Thranduil has intrigued me for a long time, and very much so in the first and second age.

I do like that. I have run out of brain power to be more constructive...

Thanks! I have finally given up on the two challenges "Unexpected Journey" and "Grass", as I never came up with any inspiration...sometimes, the drabble muse still doesn't cooperate. I'm working at the two challenges I missed out, though, and will post them in one catch-up post each.

How lovely. I'm delighted you're working with Thranduil in this one.
