I just finished reading Capt. Hook: The Adventures of a Notorious Youth, by J.V. Hart, which I recommend for Peter Pan fans.

i was vaguely aware of this book but didn't really know much about, but now i'd like to read it. peter pan is so fantastic - strangely it was never a huge favourite of mine when i was a kid but when i read it a couple of months ago i loved it (peter is the most gorgeous character ever). anyway, this prequel sounds worth it - thanks for the review. =D

I've always hesitated buying this to read as I'm a Hook fan and have put it off in fear that the author didn't do their research and produced something as bile-inducing as the Disney animation (wow, that sounded snobbish. Sorry if I offended any fans of the Disney animation...but I am a bit of a snob...a nice snob though) ...but with a good review from this comm it MUST be worth a look!

Oh, yeah, it's very evocative of the original story. Not Disney at all. (Plenty of blood and some morality issues thrown in for fun.) It's at least worth a LOOK! :)
