As soon as I read the part "The movie is "the life of Chizuru, who belonged in Shinsengumi"." I was like "OH COME OOOOOONNNN" of all the things they could grab on. Like you said, people want to know about the Shinsengumi, not Chizuru. I'd be way more happy if they made a movie of Ryunosuke's Hijikata route instead of Chizuru's. THAT would have been a great storyline for a movie. As for the "happy ending", I agree with you, they'll probably only keep Shinpachi, Saitou and Shimada alive, but it would be awesome if they actually showed if they survived and how was their life, unlike in the TV version. -_- It always bugged me how they left Saito "killed in action". I know Chizuru never hears from him again, but we saw lots of things in the TV show that Chizuru never knew of, this could have been one of them. Oh well, I rest my case. XD

I'm feeling seriously cheated... What was all this and that I was reading about a "Brand New ORIGINAL storyline!".... Seriously, I can just stand Chizuru but... I agree: COMMON!!!!

I was hoping for more interesting and fleshed out backstory but NOOOOO We gotta focus on "The only GIRL Shinsengumi that never really existed because we need to pander to stupid people!!""

oh, come ON Sis, you should know by now "All new Original story" is just a sales pitch.

if it's based on a book: ALL NEW ORIGINAL STORY
If It's based on a true Story: ALL NEW ORIGINAL STORY
If it's a re-release, If it's remake, if it's a re-packaged, ect

basically the only time they DON'T say ALL NEW ORIGINAL STORY is when it IS AN ALL NEW ORIGINAL STORY.

My optimism for this movie just got squished like a hairy spider TT_TT

oh well, it's something & I'm sure the directors know we're all gonna lap it up either way. I mean, hey, the guys making it are kinda idiots, but we still love Hakuouki, right?

Besides, this IMO is one of the best historically accurate (aside from the bishi♥) interpretation of the shinsengumi I'VE ever seen, I even like it more than Hikaru Kaze

I actually like Reimeiroku a lot more than the other series, since i was able to empathize with each characters personally, than with Chizuru's pov...

The emphasis on Chizuru is kinda a bummer....and in the end, it still sounds like a retelling/recap movie T_T;;
