Hakuouki Movie 1 : Kyoto Ranbu special version, with English sub and Chinese sub.
It’s a digest of the movie: the first 10 minutes, and Ikedaya Incident. The backbone is the same, with everything else different. Very interesting. Not to mention the beautiful animation and sleek battle scenes.

Okay, first impressions go as follows.

Animation: Freaking FLAWLESS!!! This brings out the Kazuki Yone style like it was bloody MEANT to be!!... and The the Baka trio up to their usual antics was adorable. ♥

Directing: Everything was going perfect 'til they got to Kazama and Chizuru. For the love of dog, Please, If They're going to show Chizuru's demon abilities, then She'd BETTER do more than scream people names over and over! I really hope the the Shinsengumi and history don't get stuck in the back seat again! >:( ... did they get a different actor for Yamazaki?...

Music: It's not Kow Otani so it doesn't wrench at your heart strings or capture the epicness of the Shinsengumi like the anime did but it DOES pull off the Scary as hell atmosphere like it should. The playful and light-hearted music is also good but the sappy, love-dovey music is totally lame.

Sorry, Musician, reviewer and tom-boy... what can I say. XD

Desho~ It's so good that I couldn't sleep and before I know it I finished subbing (and it's ７ in the morning). XD

I think Chizuru is using her weapon (fast healing) well in the movie. In the ending song she shielded Hijikata again. For her to scream people's name and shield them is much better than to sit there doing nothing screeching "STAAAAP". That makes me wanna wring her neck. XD

The seiyuu didn't change. I bet it's because Yamazaki spoke in Kansei dialect when talking to the inn keeper. I was like "huh?" when I heard that too. Yamazaki was from Osaka. It would've been great if he'd speak Kansei dialect all the time. >///

You're right! I discovered how pleasant was watching a OVA DVD I got on the TV screen than on the computer, which in comparison it's pratically the half as size XD So, I have to enjoy the movie on the TV with potato chips and drink as at the cinema LOL

Thanks, I already uploaded it, but i had to input the subs by hand with the program i used, so i had to make a few tweaks here & there with the wording so that they'd fit the screen, but you still get credit for translating it ^^

I didn't expect something mature tbh...
This really sounds promising! *.*

I'm Happy to see Chizuru useful too, she sounds less stupid from what I've seen in this video, this really is a good decision from the director. (Because Chizuru being helpless all the time, even tho she's a demon, was a real problem in the anime series, she was so boring xD)

Hope the whole movie will be availavable soon *can't wait*

Just received the DVD and watched it.

I won't spoil :D

I liked the movie, but it's confusing, bc it seems to be more a "remake" (I mean all the important scenes of the series were just completely different, even tho there were some new scenes...) than just a movie with the POV of Chizuru (like the director said in a interview).

It is a good movie nevertheless. *.*
