When Eli started leaning towards him, I immediately thought - "Isn't it a bit rushed? I mean, is he really going to kiss him so quickly?" Silly me. Anyway, I enjoyed reading it. And Xander acted as typically Xander, you knew how to fit the story to him and his character perfectly.
