Definitely tell him straight away, as soon as you next see him. It's not fair to him to string him along, and it's not fair to you to have to stress out over this for so long. You shouldn't have to tell him more than once, and if he doesn't get it, block his number. You have no obligation toward him, and as of now he's probably not particularly attached to you--it won't hurt him all that much to cut him out of your life.
