"Listeners, we are currently fielding numerous reports that books have stopped working. It seems that all over Night Vale, books have simply ceased functioning."

I've recently started listening to the podcast "Welcome to Night Vale" on the way to and from work, and it is just the awesomest merging of funny and creepy. So that's my recommendation ( Read more... )

What a beautiful crown!

I've just recently discovered our library's audiobook section. Rented out Dante's "Divine Comedy", which for some reason they have on three separate disc boxes, so instead of one item I had to rent three.

I only listen to audiobooks I've already read before, but the quote at the beginning of your post caught my interest!

And they have to read it right. Sooo many people can't read, it's frustrating! Even many actors. Gah.

As I realized yesterday when I put the CD in, they translated Dante new for the audiobook so it's no longer lyric but prose - no doubt because very few people these days can read poetry right - but the result is pretty gharstly.

true! do you have a favourite audiobook reader? Only slightly related, but ever since I've seen Shakespeare in love, Gwyneth Paltrow became my fav poetry reading voice.

oh dear sounds bad.

Love the crown!

Do you listen to many podcasts? I haven't done since I was very in the HP fandom. If so, which do you listen to? I'm eager to start up again.

Thanks! :)

I don't, actually. I used to, but they were mostly language learning ones. However, I've just finished listening to this bbc radio show 'Cabin Pressure' which is definitely awesome as well ^_^ http://girloutofuniform.tumblr.com/post/55257604353/cabin-pressure-masterpost
