I think IMR4MR is so AU that it isn't worth trying to make it HBP compliant. One solution would be to incorporate the parts of HBP that fit, ignore the rest, and slap an AU sticker on it so no one can complain.

HBP is rather surreal. Slytherins getting character development? Podperson!JKR must have taken over the real JKR. (But I'm not complaining... or at least about that.) However, I found the confrontation between Draco and Dumbledore at the end to be glorious.

Angsty!Draco is now canon! JKR definitely goes for H/D rather than D/H, LOL.

Might write a HBP compliant version one day (chapter one, back-story to chapter one, chapter two, chapter four)...if I have the motivation to, I suppose.

I can't bear the thought of altering chapter one or "Un Chapeau Blanc" either ;_; I can almost see the library shelves where Snape hid as a child.

Don't alter it! I love it how it is. And H/D in HBP is one of the only things that make me like it.
