Tomorrow I go for Employment Assistance through the unemployment office. I'm not sure what it entails but I am guessing that whoever counsels me on my job search will do everything they can to crush my dreams of having another job I like

Hey, I'm unemployed currently and have been for long periods in the past. I know how the system works and will be glad to offer you any advice or assistance you might need with it.

Just keep a positive attitude. You'd be surprised how good the job market actually is in certain fields.

Of course, if you'd be willing to relocate, there's several Journalism jobs open in my area and most of them pay quite well.

Well, relocating is not an option as I couldn't sell my house in this market! I'll update and tell how the class went in a little bit.
