Hello Dear man How are you? How's life?

Dec 08, 2018 18:31

This week: I have struggled, nay, soldiered on with a cold. Monday and Tuesday I was the sickest person in the world. If that was a real competition, I'd have been given a trophy. A bronzed box of tissues, say, or a giant perspex lozenge. Thursday and Friday, meanwhile, were wretched filthy hot: aggressive dry furnace heat that knocked you down ( Read more... )

Poor old you, I hope you feel better now. I haven't had a cold in years, not a proper full blown job. I have to say those frozen custard thingies look fabulous. I don't think we have them here but we do have frozen Greek yoghurt ones which are delish.

We can buy Angostura Bitters here in the local supermarket, 10 quid a bottle but it's not something a Brit would naturally turn to, we have pink gin cocktails which seem similar but alcoholic. Lime and lemon with ice is a popular drink.

That blood clot is horrendous, poor bloke :/

I've had two colds in two months, which is too much. That'll do me for a couple of years, at least. :-)

My sister wrote to say that they are forecast to have 47°C today at her place (Eudunda) - that seems awfully hot so early in summer. Poor you battling a cold. I hope you took your Codral to properly Soldier On. Or don't they have that ad anymore?

The icecream looks like something The Swede would love. I'm not an icecream fan, preferring icy pops (preferably red) instead. I find the creamy ones coat my tongue and smother my tastebuds.

Awww ... Tojo had more friends than he realised, If only he'd let someone nearer him sooner.

There are a few things that I'm surprised to find are Australian. I didn't know that Lemon, Lime and Bitters was purely Aussie, but I discovered the hard way that Hock, Lime and Lemon is very much unknown in British pubs. "A hot what?" was the response I got.

Codral do indeed still have that ad about soldiering on! As in, the exact same ad. Those people soldiering on should be at retirement age by now. :-)

We're getting Much Ado About Nothing.

According to their website, the other one they're doing in 2019 is Titus Andronicus, and all I know about that one is that there's a lot of limbs being cut off. I think I'm happy to get the light comedy. :-)
