I planned to write about what a delightful time of year this is. End of winter citrus season, start of summer stone fruit season. Mandarins and nectarines, my two favourite fruits, in my fruit bowl at the same time. What could be better ( Read more... )

Ugh 43C IN SPRING, Australia is BRUTAL.
And now you made me crave for fruit, luckily I have mandarins at home.

Neither the 43C nor the 16C are normal for this time of year. Just the weather being weird. :-(

Devil's doughnuts? *snicker*. Of course every girl should carry a spray can of V.I.Poo in her handbag ;)

I love Grand Designs but really, some people have no financial sense filter. You could build a pretty fine house with £800,000. In my view gold taps make a place look tacky ;)

I don't think the problem was taps, really. It was the bespoke exterior walls that had individual sticks and stones hand-glued to it. It took some poor worker ages.

That temperature is crazy. My sister, who lives in the Barossa Valley, spent yesterday (her birthday) putting out a bushfire that was threatening her property. Oh joy...

Of course, I'm royal, so my doughnuts are odourless :) The mind boggles. People buy this?

Obviously the couple on Grand Designs were public servants as that is exactly how their project budgets go each and every time. Though that's generally with other people's money...

Oh no, I hope she's all right.

IT projects too. My ex/current work has a software project that is shaping up just like that couple's house. It's a money sink.

That ad is grotesque - bizarre.

I like Vera, though.

There are scientists that could be, I don't know, curing cancer, but they've devoted their lives to loo smells. What a world we live in.

I like Vera too. I also like the Shetland books by the same author (Ann Cleeves), but I didn't think the TV version did them justice.
