Jo had been out getting the last supplies.
She hadn't caught Dean yet since the trip with Sam.

She assumed the one has already found the other.
(That both ways filled the other in. Like always.)

She had things she needed first.
But now she's walking home with her bag.

It's only about half a block now.

Sam's gone out looking for a lot of things in his life, and a good many of them made him uncomfortable. Going out looking for Jo Harvelle of all people is making it pretty high on that list.

Especially when he actually sees her.

There's no other way to say it: Sam just gave her a dorky, nervous wave.

Nervous and dorky is better than the haunted and freaked she left.

He gets an acknowledging tilt of her head from half the street up.

And once she's near, a simple. "Hey."

"Hey."

He hesitates, stopping to let her approach.

"Dean told me you guys are heading out again soon."

Jo's face didn't change much, but she glanced toward the door off his side. It wasn't like she was tall enough to be doing any looking over his shoulder.

"Yeah." A hand hooked at her bag strap. "Got business needs finishing."

And she was smart enough not to be alone this time.
