Character Name: Sariel
Race: Demon
History: He is one of the four holy archangels "of eternity and trembling", according to the book of Enoch. Sariel is a prince of presence and an angel of healing. In lore, he was also a "benevolent angel of death." Moses received all his knowledge from Sariel and Sariel retrieved his damned soul. Many would pray to Sariel to heal the sick and save those from the brink of death. He writes the birth of man and erases the dead.
Sariel was a leader of the angels who had one particular deadly sin conquer him - lust. Sariel went about to teach man of the course of the moon, also bringing angels along to steal wives and lead men astray. This, of course, was wrong in and of its nature. Angels were not meant to desire humans nor give in to the persuasions of the flesh. Sariel was thus cast out and ordered to serve eternally in the world as he had so chosen (inadvertently) over his family and his Father's commands. This was when Sariel realized humanity was not what he thought it was. That, from a distance, it looked doable but, when confronted with it head-on, he would not pass the test.
He does not believe that the slavery of angels is moral, as he believes them to be of a holy nature. However, he has his doubts about his brothers (and former allies) own morality. He refuses to be a slave to a human and, for the foreseeable future, it will stay that way in his mind. He does have plans to free his brothers, despite himself and his own uneasiness with it. He recognizes that what he did millenia ago was a bad decision and would like to remedy this, though he knows he can not.
What does he hope for? He hopes to regain admiration and be worshiped as a savior. He would like to be recognized as the perfection he imagines himself to be. Sariel would like to fight among his brothers again. He would like them to be freed from their captivity by his hand. He would like them to pay their dues and bring their offerings to Him, as a King (though he is not one.) However, certain types of persuasion can lure him in to nearly anything. He tries to keep his wits about him, not wanting to fall to the chaos of man again, but his lust overrides him at times. It is what drives him.
In his mind, he will free his brothers. They will be at his command. And they will take what they want.
