December is Ryo's favorite month.
He doesn't really know why, it just has been since he was a kid. Maybe its the cold weather. Maybe its because the dark nights make a good back drop to the bright city lights.
Ryo contemplates this as he walks around, hands shoved in his coat pockets, messenger bag slung over his shoulder. He doesn't have a hat and his coat is only buttoned up to the base of his neck. He can feel the chilly wind when it glides past him.
But he doesn't mind.
The sharp chill makes him feel alive.
He needs to be out here; all day he'd been stuck inside filming the latest drama he'd been cast in. The producers said it was too cold to film outside. He's happy to be walking home in this weather. Really, its not that cold once you get used to it.
Maybe the cold weather really is the reason he likes December. He takes the steps up to his apartment two at a time. Maybe its the way his building seems to glow against the night sky. He takes out his keys and walks through the door.
But when Ryo walks into his living room, he knows its neither of those reasons.
He leans down and kisses the top of Tatsuya's head, who is sitting on the couch wrapped in a blanket, watching TV, waiting for him to come home. Tatsuya leans his head back to look at Ryo.
"I'm home."
'Welcome home."
And Ryo is leaning down again to capture Tatsuya's lips in a gentle kiss. He drops his bag, takes off his coat and sits next to Tatsuya. He pulls the other man closer and drapes an arm over his shoulders.
December is his favorite month, Ryo thinks as Tatsuya rests his head on Ryo's shoulder, because it means cuddling with his boyfriend under blankets on the couch, watching TV. Just being together.
