So i'm still watching Batman: The Animated Series, right, and actually it's pretty embarrassing that i've been watching it for a year now and am still not done, but i only watch a little at a time and sometimes i go for a while without watching it, and anyway i like having it to look forward to! I watch it on my ipod in bed and it's very comforting

B:TAS! MY LOVE FOR IT IS SO GREAT. I haven't really watched it since it was actually airing(/rerunning?) on Cartoon Network when I was in high school, so of course it was always out of order, but oh man is it amazing. I think it was my first real introduction to the DC superheroes outside of really old Justice Friends/Justice League episodes, haha. My favorite one is the one with the Grey Ghost, who was, like, Bruce's favourite TV serial hero when he was a kid? SO AMAZING.

Which is to say, if it is on Netflix I am totally doing a watch-through now.

It is not on Netflix Instant AND IT SHOULD BE. All tv shows should be, they are so annoooooooying to have to wait for discs.

And YES, Beware the Gray Ghost is a super awesome episode, def. one of my favorites.

I wish i'd actually gotten into the show when i was younger, i feel like such a loser for not watching it until now. But better late than never, i guess!

Well, it's not like I was "into" it, but I loved watching it with my parents! And Batman Beyond, actually. I remember trying to get "schway" to catch on with my friends freshman year LOLOLOL such a loser!

ANYWAY i've made it to the New Batman Adventures portion, which is technically a new series i guess, but since it's a continuation of TAS and is part of the DVD set i think it's just easier to consider it a weird final season. I'd heard not-so-great things about it, and the changes in character design are jarring, but it's not nearly as bad as i was expecting.
Yeah, it's kind of a weird final season with weird character designs...but way more Batgirl!

Next up i'm planning on watching Superman: The Animated Series and after that moving on to Justice League in an effort to copy spectralbovine's awesome DCAU viewing strategy. YAAAAAYYYYYY SUPERHERO CARTOONS :D :D :D
YAAAAY. But you have to do Batman Beyond in between those!

But shouldn't Batman Beyond be AFTER Superman and JLU, since it's in the future? I had been thinking about doing that, although i find the premise of Beyond a little frightening since it's a different Batman and all.

You would think, but no. It aired in between those two series and should be viewed in that order, especially because of the way the crossover episodes work (a couple BB episodes set up a JLU crossover and one JLU episode is essentially the BB finale).

As far as the premise, it's a different Batman, but Bruce is still around! And he's OLD AND CRANKY and it's awesome.

I absolutely cannot wait for you to get to JL/JLU, holy crap, Huntress, Wondy, Hawkgirl, Vixen, Bruce cracking smiles, Superman being his ABSOLUTE BEST, Jon Stewart! Green Arrow riding side saddle with Black Canary and absolutely owning it. THE QUESTION. EVERYONE IS WAITING FOR YOU. IT'S LIKE THE END OF TITANIC BUT SO MUCH MORE DELIGHTFUL.
