The dinner dates, now that they were back on the ship, were back in full force. Well... if that's really what it wanted to be called anyway. Things were going on with his ship, he could feel it, though he didn't know what exactly. Getting Spock's message, he confirms it before going back to his quarters to change. Nothing formal, just being himself.
1900 came and he alerted Spock to his presence. It was odd to do this since punctual wasn't really his name. However, his Vulcan companion preferred it so he tried to keep him happy in that area.
Spock fixed the napkins to be .8 inches away from the plates before the door chime alerted him that Kirk was standing on the other side. A glance to the clock told him that the captain was punctual, and Spock wasted no time striding over and opening the door for him.
"Jim." He greeted simply, standing aside and allowing the other entrance to his quarters. "I have prepared something simple for our meal. An Alfredo pasta with chicken for you, and likewise for myself, without the meat." He slid the door shut before walking over the table. "I presumed water is a suitable beverage for you this evening."
Punctual only because Spock wanted him to be, not because he wanted to be. It really wasn't his style, though he'd have to learn eventually. That much he did know. If not for himself then for the sake of his crew. They needed him to be punctual and efficient. Or something along those very lines.
"Spock." He says giving the Vulcan a smile before stepping into his quarters. It was warmer then his own, but he could adjust to that. Besides, it was just how Spock lived. "Sounds good and, yes, water is suitable enough."
Spock went over to where his sink was at and poured two tall glasses of water. He never spilled a drop, not even when taking the glasses over and setting them on the table. "It is all set then. Your place is the one towards the north end of the ship, Jim."
The Vulcan remembered ancient texts he had read where the highest ranking officer sat at the northernmost end of the table where it was applicable, and Spock had made no exception here. He took a seat at the other table.
"I must discuss with you the ongoings of the ship, Jim. They are pressing matters that need to be taken care of as soon as it is possible."
Spock nodded, pleased that Kirk was pleased with his idea. Seeing those baby blues like up light Terran fireworks was something Spock would say he enjoyed. Knowing that he pleased the other enough to make him happy like that was something the Vulcan liked. Spock got up and went over to his small and personal replicator. It took a moment to replicate Kirk's meal - It was probably wondering about the chicken - and brought it over to the captain to replace the empty plate with.
"If you wish to message me with an available time to begin the tutoring, that would be acceptable for me, Captain." That is, unless he wanted to start now, while they were still together.
