He grinned and nodded. "Alright, then," he muttered back quietly against her lips before curling an arm around her waist and leading her back to his quarters.
Mikan's quarters were set up exactly like a honeymoon scene from an old twenty-first century chick flick. With all the research he'd done, he'd set it up almost perfectly. Candles, a trail of flower petals, the whole shebang, and to top it all off, he'd gotten a hold of an actual bottle of french champagne, though he'd paid a fortune and a half to get it for them.
As he opened the doors, he turned back to face her, pulling her in with a grin. "Happy Birthday, Chrissy."
"Alright, alright. I'll just stop asking questions," he said with a chuckle.
He smiled and raised his glass, tapping it against hers gently as he nodded, "To us." He took another sip of his glass as he leaned back against the counter, smiling down at you.
"In my spare time. I've been working on pulling it all together slowly, but steadily. Never doubt my abilities to sneak surprises under your nose," he said with a wink.
Mikan smiled as he walked back into the bedroom and she was looking the ring again.
I'm glad you enjoy it so much, love.
He refilled both champagne flutes and set the bottle on the nightstand as he took a seat beside her and handed her one of the glasses.
Taking a sip of his own, he shook his head. "That may be the case, but I'm more certain of the fact that I'm the luckiest man in the universe," he replied quietly as he leaned back against the headboard.
He smiled against his champagne flute and nodded in agreement.
"A tie it is! As for the champagne, I have my ways," he said with a wink before chuckling and explaining. "I have a friend back home who does a lot of inter-planetary trading. One of his biggest import stations is on Earth and I contacted him a few months ahead of time asking him if he could get a hold of a bottle for me because it was something I'd never tried. I was saving it for a special occasion."
"You see now, why it is so easy to establish a mental connection? We already think on the same wavelength on most subjects," he said with a wide smile.
Absolutely beaming, he leaned over to press another kiss to her lips softly. "I would never come between you and your friends, Chrissy, but it means a lot to me that you'd be willing to sacrifice that. I love you so much, I can't even explain it to you."
Mikan nodded. "Yes, that's what I've attributed it to, at least. Obviously, I can not be certain, but from what I've deduced, I've come to the conclusion that it's our compatability that made the connection so easy for you to catch on to."
He bit down on her bottom lip gently as his smile held strong.

"Wonderful. I think with a little help, we can manage that fairly quickly."
Mikan arched a playful eyebrow at the box she kept with her, "What've you got there, sweetheart?" he asked playfully.
Bingo. Shall we?
