Project 365: May 23, 2007

Today, i got approximately 1 hour of work done. I know you workaholics out there are impressed. Why, you ask, was I so uncharacteristically *ahem* unproductive?

Well, because my chorus had its end-of-season potluck, and I got sucked into the last-minute gift frenzy. (In a very convoluted manner, I might add.) So, about 6 hours before the potluck, we finally figured out what we were doing, and I was off to get he components to make it happen. The results are in the picture above. Well, partial results. I also put together a baby bouncy chair (not as easy as you might think), wrapped a bunch of presents, and made my potluck contribution. (Okay, the last is mostly my fault for not doing it sooner.) And then I'd volunteered to help one of the women who's beeh having a bear of a time uploading a geneology web site she's created using FrontPage (of all things). It's one of those things that takes 5 minutes to do if you're in front of it, an infinite amount of time if you're trying to do it remotely.

For my potluck contribution, I decided to make J's delectable peanut butter bars. Nope, not going to show you a picture of those. Rather, here's Kekoa carefully licking the bowl.

However, I will give the "recipe" as it were, if for no other reason so that I don't forget it again. :-)

2c crushed graham crackers (~15 crackers, or 1 bag Target brand bite-sized crackers)
1c peanut butter
2.5c powdered sugar (I used 1.5 c and it seemed fine to me)
1c melted margarine

Mix all of the above together and press into 9x13 pan. Cover with melted chocolate. Refrigerate.

Easy, no? I used 1/2 bag of milk chocolate chips and sprinkled another 1/2 bag of white chocolate chips on top. I was going to melt both together, but that didn't work so well, as I was in a rush and didn't do it properly. So I ended with this. These bars are very similar to peanut butter cups, which we all know are on-par with Snickers bars in terms of chocolate-y goodness
