The Thwarted Robin

I could have sworn I blogged about this a year or two ago, and I went looking today to find the blog entry so I could repost it, but alas, no luck.

Since I can't find the entry I guess I'll just write a new one. I've been reading a lot of fairy tales lately, so I thought I'd try my hand at a bit of (groan-worthy, I'm sure) creative writing...

What a cute story! You hooked me so I'd read through. What made you think of this? You say it's just creative writing....not something that actually happened? We have a large glass window in our living room and a couple birds have smacked into them and not gotten up again, so I was glad to see this silly little bird went on his way and kept coming back. But gee, Tam, can't you at least let him find a real bird in the end? (Sigh.) Why do I want fiction to end happily?

LOL sorry, no this is actually true. This stupid bird's been returning to torture himself year after year. I just went creative with the story telling because I've told the story so many times I was bored with telling it straight ... plus I was in a weird mood that day.

On a positive note, though, I pulled the curatain half-open and left it and haven't heard him out there for almost a week now, so I'm holding out the slight hope that he's found a bird. It's been pretty grey and ugly out though, so he may be back when the sun comes out.
