Two new ones

1. I somehow got the ability to travel through time so obviously all I wanted to do was go to a TMBG duo show. So I went to '92--'92 was when They started playing with a full band, but apparently there were still some duo shows. I brought my digital camera and was afraid people might notice it and be all confused. The show itself, needless to say, ( Read more... )

I went to a show in 1992! They did "Why Does The Sun Shine?" which I already knew from MTV (and they messed up the words), and it was the first time I heard "Why Must I Be Sad" and "Sleeping In The Flowers!"

I'd hope I was in that video...

Oh yeh, they were doing John Henry stuff that early? I guess they could have done "Thermostat" then, though I do think something that rockin' would sound weird duo.

Also, YOU ARE SO COOL. I wish I'd been to a show in '92!!! But I was, unfortunately, A KID.

I was fourteen, so I was sort of a kid! Hope my parents don't read this community, because I wasn't allowed to go. ;-)

It wasn't a duo show, but didn't have the lineup they had at the show I saw in '94 (when Frank Black came back onstage (he opened) for "Sleeping In The Flowers"). Jim O'Connor, etc. In '92 ,there was someone on drums and glockenspiel. I want to say it was Brian Doherty, but my memory is unreliable. Somehow, I can't remember if there was a fourth person on stage. I was kind of in the back of the venue (Deep Ellum Live, in Dallas) but - you guessed it - I was sure John was looking at me.

I believe the drummer would have been this guy. And Kurt Hoffman was doing stuff with them then too I think. And oh yes, the "LINNELL WAS TOTALLY STARING AT ME" thing, haven't we all been there...
