Duncan & Wes - The Final Meeting (four days after the phone call)

Jan 30, 2006 15:22

Duncan walked slowly to the alleyway that seemed all too familiar to him now. He'd re-lived everything in his mind, looked over the pictures of Aidan that he hadn't told Wes about... re-read the note a thousand times.

And now he was here, with his dragon-head katana and nothing else.

He knew why they wanted Aidan -- to get to him. He had no clue ( Read more... )

Wes was all in black, blending into the shadows as much as possible. It was something he had learned how to do pretty well in the past, and it came in handy again here. He didn't appear to be nearly as heavily armed as he had been the last time they had come here, but then again, looks were often decieving.

Wes nodded to Duncan, both in answer to his statment and as a greeting of sorts. he had the impression that he was expendible in some ways as far as Duncan was concerned, and he didn't have a problem with that really. He'd played that part many times in the past, and knew he might do so again in the future, if he had much of one when this had all played out.

Getting Aidan and Face home safe was the important thing here, with as little bloodshed on this side of things as was possible.

For some reason, Duncan chuckled at Wes' outfit. And people accused him of brooding?

The two hadn't really come up with a plan for anything, except getting Aidan back. There wasn't a guarantee they'd even see him once his kidnapper appeared, but Duncan was hoping.

"Let's go," he said, walking to the front door of the club -- just as the note had said -- and finding it open. He'd expected that, even if it hadn't been clear in the note. Whoever was planning this wanted them in an enclosed space.

No escapes.

He stepped forward, breath held, sword drawn, and peered into the dark.

"I'm here. Show yourself!" After a small pause, looking around the darkness that only reminded him of Tessa's death, Duncan licked his dry lips and added, "Where's Aidan?"

If Duncan had any idea about some of the clothes Wes normally wore, he would probably be chuckling even more just because of the sheer contrast to what he had on now.

The thing was that Wes didn't really need a plan, he had a gun, and a shitload of bottled up fear, guilt, and anger to help get him through, if it didn't get him killed first.

For now though, he simply followed Duncan inside, and marveled at how slow things were tonight at the bar. It made him wonder what kind of leverage this person or group of persons might have, and made him slightly more cautious. He looked around, waiting for someone to step forward.

It was amazing what a little bit of money could do for keeping people out of someplace that you didn't want them. Lynn wasn't worried about the help, as she had made sure that a few helpful gentlemen were close by in case they were needed, and also becauseshe was planning on this actually happening someplace a bit less public. The bar was simply a stepping stone.

She stepped from the shadows, her eyes following the two men who had walked into the bar. She dismissed the boyfriend for the moment, more interested in the immortal that proceded him.

"Well, well, if it isn't Duncan MacLeod."
