Membership Drive!!!
Ok, so Quote Challenge 01 garnered a really great response. We got seven stories from five wonderful authors. Pretty spiffy!
Now, let's share the love. We're going to have a membership drive to see how many people we can get over here and get writing. Ask, beseech, beg or even nag your lj friends to come and check out the community. We want to drive our membership number from its current count of 28 up, up, and away. :D For those who have been invited, please comment to this entry and be sure to tell us who recruited you.
And, because I believe in rewarding hard work and good behavior, there will be awards involved. Banners and bragging rights will go to the member who 1) invites the most people AND 2) has the most recruits participate in a challenge. Recruits will also get rewards based on their participation. Here are some quick guidelines for the way it will work:
1. When a new recruit posts to a challenge, please tag your entry with "membership drive."
2. Only one response per challenge will count toward the participation score for the inviting members. In other words, if your friend posts two responses to one challenge, you'll only get points for one of those responses.
3. Inviting members will get 2 points for each recruit they bring in and 5 points for their friends' responses to challenges.
4. Recruits will be given a set amount of points for their responses to challenges. Their first response will earn them 5 points, the second 3 points, and the third 1 point. No points will be given after the third response.
5. Points will be given for each challenge. For instance, if a recruit posts one response to the "Light from Darkness" challenge as well as for the upcoming picture and quote promtps, they will get five points for each response. Their second response to any of those challenges will earn them 3 points, and so on.
The drive will continue until April 9, 2008 at 11:59 pm. Points will remain confidential (via screened comments). It is imperative that recruits tag their entries with "membership drive" as well as with the appropriate challenge tags. If they aren't tagged, then they won't be counted. At the end of the drive, we'll tally up all the points and then post the winners, who will receive banners for their personal pages and/or their profiles, as well as a spot in the Hall of Fame/Winners' Circle/Trophy Case/whatever I end up calling the tag for our results, lol.
