tm_challenge's Fourth Annual
BIG DAMN CHALLENGE
This year, we're trying something a little different...
Prompts and Usage: There are two prompt tables this time around, each with 50 prompts. The first prompt table has 50 word prompts to use in fics. The second prompt table has 50 word and graphic prompts to use in graphics (e.g. icons, wallpapers, banners, etc).
All work must be Tin Man-related, and prompts can be used however you want. For the Fic Prompt Table, you can use the word exactly as it appears, you can change tenses, or you can invoke the feeling of the word or its meaning. For the Graphics Prompt Table, you must use the prompt exactly as it appears, e.g. if the prompt says "no eyes" there had better not be any eyes in your graphic, however your graphic can be a wallpaper, icon, or banner, etc. For both prompt tables, you may only use one prompt per entry and only new works written or created for this challenge will be allowed. Cross-overs are allowed in both the Fic and Graphics Prompt Tables.
Teams: As with last year, we are honoring tinman100's original format. This year we have FIVE teams because I'm crazy like a fox. They are: Team Tin Man, Team Longcoats, Team Gale, Team Resistance and Team Headcase. If you choose one of the first four teams, you're choosing to participate in the team challenge, which means that you'll be earning points for your team per entry. If you choose Team Headcase, however, you're choosing the no-competition option - aka you're simply writing to write - and will NOT earn team points.
The icons:
Using a team icon is NOT required, but, if you choose to use one of these icons, please remember to credit midnight_burn.
Points: Each entry will count for ONE (1) point toward your team points. For every ten entries you complete, you will earn an extra ONE (1) point. Complete the whole table and get an additional FIVE (5) points. Each table is worth 60 points if fully completed. The team with the most points wins! And, by "wins", we mean that you'll get bragging rights. And, possibly, a shiny banner...
Deadline: For Teams Tin Man, Longcoat, Gale and Resistance, your deadline is August 31st, 2011. For Team Headcase, your deadline is non-existent. Due to your non-competition status, you can work on the prompt table for as long as you want.
If you decide, before the deadline for Team Tin Man et al., that you want to "switch sides", you may do so. BUT!! You may only switch teams ONCE. So, be sure that you really want to switch. And that you pick the team you want.
If you do switch teams, please delete your comment under Team Headcase and repost under the appropriate team.
Posting Process: If you would like to participate, please copy one (or both) of the tables and post it wherever you post you fic/graphics. Then, comment on this post using the provided, pre-formatted entry. As you finish an entry/entries, come back and reply to your original comment. If you would like to wait until you hit a mark of five or six or ten or twenty before commenting back, that's fine, too.

Notes for the BDGPT: The last row's image prompts are much larger than 100x100 and can easily be used for wallpapers etc. All other image prompts are only 100x100 pixels but this does not mean that you have to make icons.

The Only Rules: (with some reptition from above)
* Entries MUST be Tin Man-related and cross-overs are allowed.
* There is no word limit. Write as much or as little as you want - 100 drabbles or one sweeping epic of 100 chapters - and use the prompts however you see fit. It's your muse, after all...
* At minimum, each graphic must be at least 100x100 pixels and at maximum each graphic can be 1280x800 pixels (or your monitor size, if larger); you can of course make graphics in between these size ranges. All icons must conform to LJ standards.
* When cross-posting completed entries to other comms, please be aware of the posting rules already set in place (formatting, tags, etc.). We know you already know this... but a little refresher never hurts. ;)
* Please be kind and remember to post warnings for anything you wouldn't the kids or your mother to see. Some of us are reading at work, after all...
