The Invitations

When I first saw these invitations I absolutely loved them. But this was two years ago and now I think I'm just so used to seeing them that they're just really nice, but not spectacular anymore. Nevertheless, I think I will base my design on this one:( Read more... )

Paper Presentation sells the pocketfold for $1.19 each provided I order more than 25. A friend of mine is bringing me a sample of one when I see her in Madrid next week. She says the quality is so-so. My guess is that the paper weight is 65 lb. or less since she said she had to stick it into a catalog for fear it would get bent up in her bag otherwise.

My Gatsby sells the pocketfold for $1.80 each provided I buy at least 100. I e-mailed them to ask about the paper weight and they said that all of their products are between 80-100 lb.

The white/ivory parts will come from somewhere cheaper. Perhaps either Marco Paper or a paper mill like Fox River Direct or Neenah Paper (although admittedly I have not checked their prices for anything less than 4000 sheets :o).

The invite I picked up was pretty much made of the same material as the CNY card I sent out a few years ago (I had bought the cards at the same store).

The thinness shouldn't be bad if you plan on layering because that would stiffen the invitation and yet keep the postage weight down.

Great. I just found out you cannot edit journal comments.

Neenah Paper is really hard to find stuff on. I am looking for ivory colored cardstock to print the actual wording on and the only thing I found was:
4000 Sheets CLASSIC COLUMNS Classic Natural White
8 1/2" x 11", Columns finish 80 lb. Text $35.00
What the hell would I do with 4000 sheets of cardstock?

Fox River Direct is terrible. You have to search by brand (you cannot search by color or paper weight or anything!) and they don't seem to offer samples. Their prices aren't even that competitive.

http://www.envelopemall.com/NeenahSheets.htm has Neenah papers. I used them for my invites and my brother's invites - loved their service. And you don't have to buy 4k sheets. :p

Dangit - hate not being able to edit.

I wanted to say that the sheer sheet with the initials on it is absolutely exquisite! Love it!

According to the catalog, the paper weight is 80 lb. It doesn't really feel like 80 though, but I think it will do. My Gatsby also said they use 80-100lb so there is no guarantee that the My Gatsby one is any thicker.

I did find out that the price is not $1.19 as previously thought though. Apparently the price of $11.19 is for 26 packs of 10 or more. Not 26 individual pocketfolds as originally thought. So since I need about 100 invites (let's say 120 to be safe), that's only 12 packs which cost $12.90 per pack or $1.29 each pocketfold.

Papermart sells a 1" metallic gold ribbon for $10.20 for 25 yards. Is that cheap?
