I popped over to our community garden yesterday to harvest some of our veggies in advance of our first frost of the year. I was SO annoyed at the thought of a first frost just because I'm really not ready for it to be winter yet, but then I remembered that much of the rest of the country has already seen snow and is almost definitely not gardening ( Read more... )

What corners you can still turn, sista! Lawrence has (or at least had!) community gardens

(and we have the University of Arizona right down the street. just sayin.)

Nice harvest! I can't wait for ours ... not sure when that'll be.

We put ours in back in mid October and all is progressing nicely. I should start taking from the basil plants. No tomatoes yet, though. The rest is doing really well. We will have brussell sprouts coming out of our ears when they finally do come.

Yay! We got all our seeds in really late, although everything is doing well right now. Broccoli, carrots and radishes are my favorite part of winter harvesting.
