I'm jealous of the yard and getting to garden! Are basil plants harder to keep alive? I'm on my second basil plant in my windowsill and it is not looking like it's very happy.

I've killed five basil plants in the last two years. This current one is the longest I've been able to keep alive.

If your plant doesn't make it (basil really doesn't do well in the winter), try again in the spring. Give it lots of sun and not too much water - they like to be fairly dry.

If it makes you feel any better, I have just killed my rosemary and creeping thyme. Better luck in the spring!
