I just lost one of my birthday earrings to the shower drain.

A metal claw contraption shoved down the drain yielded nothing. They're probably not worth the cost of a plumber.

Unfortunately, the earrings in question were a late birthday gift from my mother-in-law. They were white gold, with one piece set inside a larger diamond shape.

I don't suppose you know metalworking, do you? :)

what's the material? what came to mind immediately was one of those little telescoping magnet tools.

I think it's white gold. A magnet didn't work on the other earring.

i don't know if you have gotten it out yet. i hope so, but if not, i saw something about retrieving jewelry from a drain with a shop vac with panty-hose over the nozzle.
good luck. hope you get it back. :/

I thought about that, but I ended up calling the jeweler and buying a replacement set. They were less expensive than a plumber or a shop-vac. But thank you for the suggestions!
