Bright eyes

I'm scheduled for LASEK eye surgery tomorrow, and I'm knee-quiveringly nervous about it. While there will be no knife to my eye (this procedure uses chemical drops instead), I'll still have to sit through the procedure while they work on my corneas with lasers. The side effects list that the doctor gave me is appropriately terrifying, warning of ( Read more... )

eyes, health stuff, school, nervousness

i've known a few people who have gotten lasek and they were all very happy with the results. i'm pretty positive that you will be just fine. however, good luck, and i'm totally jealous. because that is the one surgery i really wish i could have done.

!! :) You're such a brave person. THAT's what I'm jealous of. Good luck good luck good luck, I hope your eyes are all okay, now and 60 years from now.

Wish you were here. Not long enough to hate it, but just long enough for the chance meeting at the grocery store ;) and a nice dinner.

Love ya!

I wish you the best on the Lasic. Rachel had it done two years ago, and all I can say is that it's an absolute miracle. She was practically blind without glasses before, and then not even great with glasses.

Now, she sees perfectly. Amazing.

You'll do great.

Good luck with the surgery. I hope you recover quickly.

Would you be able to gave me some information about this procedure? I just checked wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lasic#Safety_and_efficacy). Do you know anything that isn't mentioned there? Is it cheaper in Korea than in North America?

My eyes have been progressively worsening since I was sixteen. I think what I am is near-sighted (I can't see far away), but now far away isn't really that far. I can't see Joanne's expression from across a room without my glasses. It would be really nice to be able to see clearly without the frames of my glasses blurring my peripheral vision.

I'd be happy to refer you to my doctor. He gave me a seriously good price. The cost will depend on the type of procedure, but I had my surgery done on both eyes for less than what it costs per eye in the States. The doctor is very nice and speaks English pretty well.

The only thing that I would take into consideration would be how long you'd be sidelined from judo. There's a recovery period of about a month where you're advised against working out - I don't know what the restriction is on contact sports.

Let me know if you'd like more information.

LASIK?! AW- best Xmas gift EVAR!

I can't wait to get mine zapped. It's always been a pain for me to go to the beach or pool parties because I have to take my lenses out and I can't see anything that's going on without them.
