Your life is pretty goddamn amazing, but are you going to be eating sushi in Tokyo next week? I think NOT.

Maybe you should try to call Laura while you're there. That would be so awesome!

Actually, I'm with tleex on this one. :) It's enough to make me seriously consider whether I could LEARN to like kids.

Dude, it's easier than you think it is. I didn't like kids when I first started teaching, but they have a way of worming themselves right into your heart. It's hard to not like a job where you're the object of so much unstinting admiration.

And seriously, I feel like I'm doing great things with my life by teaching. I'm helping kids learn how to communicate with a greater segment of the world. I open their eyes to cultural differences (which is SO needed in this homogenous country). I am Making A Difference in my own small way, you know?

Even if you firmly believed that you couldn't stand to be around kids, there are lots of opportunities to work with adults out here. If you for some reason decided that you wanted to take a break from academia, you could make a good amount of money and have a whole lot of fun teaching abroad.

I adore Amy and Jarell. And I also adore Aidan and Aaron, my aunt's children. But I persist in thinking they're not Normal children. And you know they're not.

And Terri? Thank you for the encouragement. I really do want to find a way to be abroad for a while (and interact with people, as opposed to their object histories and archives...), so I did mean it when I said I'm thinking about it.

Is there nothing you cannot do? Once again you show you have no limits. I wish we could talk I am so out of the loop. Anyways, I am glad you are happy and I cannot think of anyone who deserves it more. 304-293-6127

Would you be free anytime this coming week? Our travel plans are pretty loose - would you be interested in meeting up for lunch or something if we could make it to your area?
