personally, i think they both died or at least one of them killed himself to be with the other but anywayz at least they are still together even after death!!!!

i initially had the idea of Ueda dying from a terminal disease and Ryo didn't like to feel lonely.
So even after his lover's death, he needed reassurance that he's still not alone which thus lead to suicide.

But it's rather ambiguous from the way it was written so i thought it'll be better when left to your own interpretation of it :)
