I love mystery/detective stories: I started reading Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden books when I was 11 years old, and then it morphed into Agatha Christie and Ngaio Marsh and Sherlock Holmes stories. In between that, I read a bunch of teenage mystery/romances and one particular series called Windswept was excellent and than I moved onto Victoria Holt and the Sookie Stackhouse books.

What's your favorite book and why?

I read Nancy Drew but I always thought the Hardy Boys had more fun. I know it wasn't a contest but the Hardy Boys got to do a lot more exciting things than Nancy. At least that's my recollection of those books!

Victoria Holt! She was awesome!! Romantic, mysterious, fun, wonderful!

My favorite book is one I don't many people have heard of - Summer of the Red Wolf by Morris West. It's not especially well known but it speaks to me in a way most books don't. It's written in first person POV which means when people complain about First POV, I can't help but feel a little defensive!

I also very much love Left Hand of God by William Barrett. It talks about whether or not non-believers are really non-believers in their hearts. When I went to Amazon to find the author of the book, I discovered there is a recent trilogy called Left Hand of God. I haven't read those. The one I love was written in 1950

I really started getting into reading when I first discovered Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar series. As such I have a strong love of fantasy/parnormal fiction but I have also been getting into historical & paranormal mysteries lately. Lauren Haney's Lt. Bak series in Ancient Egypt being the big one to get me into mysteries. You can really see the influence from my reading habits in my fanfic as most have some fantasy/paranormal bent to them.

My first fandom was Gundam Wing, then moved on to Harry Potter and Star Trek (TOS & AOS) and in the last three years I have begun to be focused more on the Hawaii Five-0 fandom.

What was your first fandom and do you still write for it?

I can't read stories with paranormal plots. I'm sure the ghosts and spirits and whatever are going to come for me next. I do love historical fiction so I should give Lauren Haney a try!

My first fandom was Star Trek. I started with TOS many many years ago, when fan fiction was copied and bound into Zines. I had led a pretty sheltered life and to discover that there was a whole world of Star Trek I'd never considered was amazing!!! I mean - gay sex??? It was quite an eye-opener!!! (To put this in perspective, I graduated from college in 1980. Yes, I am very old

I'm someone who needs adventure - I spent my formative years (19-32) caving (that's me in my icon) including expedition caving to explore new caves in the Austrian Alps.

More recently, Pirates of the Caribbean sent me to sea, and so I have Disney to thank for all my sailing adventures since :)

Where is your favourite place in all the world?

I admire your ability to go spelunking. I can't do it. I've developed claustrophobia as an adult and the idea of exploring caves is something I can't even contemplate.

I love sailing!! I went on vacation on a tall ship quite a few years ago. It was awesomely awesome. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I've always felt that in a former life, I was a sailor. I could have been on Captain Jack Sparrow's crew! (BTW Pirates is my sister's favorite franchise. I've watched those only slightly less than I have Star Wars!)

I have two favorite places! My house is my first. I love being at home. I was something of a wanderer in my younger years. Now that I'm settled, I love being in place, at home, surrounded by my dogs!

When I leave the house, my favorite place to vacation is Disney World! Overpriced? Yeah. Cheesy? Sure. The happiest place on Earth? You know it!!! I want to go back ASAP!!! Having a job would help that, I guess.

I used to be a chocoholic, but gave it up for lent almost ten years ago and haven't eaten it since. I'm not a great fan of flying or heights, but I like to look out of windows when I'm on a plane. I don't like needles, but have 12 tattoos.

Where is your ideal holiday destination, what would you do and who would you go with?

Wow, I admire your restraint! No chocolate!! Good for you. I'm not a fan of falling. I can be in heights if I know I am safe. If I am in a wide-open space, I have more trouble. I hate needles and have considered getting a tattoo. But I haven't yet.

I have two ideal vacation destinations - Disney World, which I love. And Hawaii, where I've never been. Even before H50 entered my life, I've always wanted to go to Hawaii. Sand, surf, sun!!! Paradise.

I'd go with my sister but, sadly, not my dogs. I'd swim and eat and sun my buns. I'm not much of a "doer" on vacation. I don't want to come home more exhausted than I was when I went. I like to laze around on vacation!

I love butterflies and for awhile was collecting anything with butterflies on it. I'll still buy something that has butterflies if it catches my eye right away.
